Thy Word Is a Lamp unto My Feet

Yes, "thy word is a lamp unto my feet… and a light unto my path," as the psalm says. And how impossible it is to walk a path without any light! Just try it. Envision a path that winds and twists, that has uneven surfaces, rocky protrusions and obstacles (perhaps wandering critters or debris) strewn about it. It is without clear borders. Throw in a few potholes for good measure, and then don't forget to include a cacophony of voices shouting out confusing, conflicting advice ("Go to the left," or "The path is heading down a hill," or "Take a big step to the northeast") to the one trying to walk the path in the dark. . . .
